I've used PHAR before and so when my starter failed, I called and Clinton said that they could fix it, same day. They did that and that's the good part of the review. When I was asking about the price of the starter, I told them that, on Amazon, prices for a 2.4L Tacoma starter were $60 on the low side and $90 on the high side. They charged me $250. I had the tow truck driver text me when he delivered the truck to them. PHAR contacted me about an hour later saying it was repaired and I could pick up the truck at any time. Total charge was $450. To be clear, they told me that what the repair would be but I think that 150% mark up for the part and the $200 labor charge was high.
Hi Andrew, I am sorry that you felt that the cost was too much. We pride ourselves in giving great customer service. We were able to get you in and out the same day even though you had no appointment. We have a 3 year Nationwide Warranty as well. So you aren't just "paying for a Starter on Amazon". You approved the repairs and the cost before the repairs were completed. We always get approval for repairs before we complete the repairs. So you could have taken your vehicle to another place if you felt it was too expensive. Thank you.
